This pattern collection is based on the Pantone colours of the year for 2021, Ultimate Grey & Uplifting Yellow. The colours represent a combination of strength and optimism.
For the hero pattern, I chose to base my print in a typically grey environment and highlight the beauty of opportunity that can be found among the colourlessness. I had fun creating a surreal, larger than life scene as people get lifted into the air from umbrellas and exaggerated characters hop through the streets on rainbows.
